This pair provides an obvious contrast in value. Everything about the red-faced mask is superior to the brown one. The overall execution, the detail of the carving, and the aesthetic merits speak to high quality and a high level of skill. In addition, the mask on the right is considerably older than the one on the left, and shows signs of ritual usage on the parts that touch the dancer's face.
